Because of its mild climate and long tradition, the town of Poreè is a
most desirable destination for sportsmen fitness - training and practice.
Within its tourist settlements and hotels, Plava Laguna in Poreè offers
sports fields, and sports halls and equipment for more than 30 sports and
recreational activities on sea, on land and in the air: from tennis,
basketball and soccer, to sailing, skin and scuba diving, and water
skiing, from shooting and horse riding to parachute gliding to bicycle
tracks and sand running tracks. The offer is adapted to suit all ages and
categories of sportsmen. Among other well know world-class clubs, the
Croatian football team honed its form in Poreè before taking the field and
going on to win the Bronze Medal at the World Cup football competition in
France in 1998.
